I know we are spirit children of a just, merciful, and loving God. He is our Heavenly Father, and he loves us as
a father loves his child. He sent us to
this Earth so we may learn and grow, to prove ourselves worthy to return to
live with him for eternity. He wants us
to be our best, and has given us tools to guide us and to help us return to
him. One of these tools is The Book of
Mormon. This book of scripture truly is
another testament of Jesus Christ, and was translated by the prophet Joseph
Smith. I have studied this special book
and have learned for myself that it is God’s word. I also believe the Bible to be true, when
read with correct translations. I testify that Heavenly Father continues to
speak to us today through Prophets and leaders, but also personally through the
Holy Ghost. This revelation and guidance
from the Holy Ghost will help us live righteously, if we choose to follow. While we may try our best, none of us are
completely perfect. We all fall short in
some way. This is where our older
brother, Jesus Christ, comes in. He is
our friend, Savior, and Redeemer. He
lived on earth, and taught us by example and word. At the end of his Earthly ministry he
suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was crucified, by some of the very souls
he came to save. He rose from his tomb after
three days, opening the door for each of us to overcome physical death when he
comes to Earth again. His atonement for
our sins is real, and with Christ’s sacrifice we can all repent and come unto
him. He is waiting for us with
outstretched hands. His church is again
on the earth today—The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
